Langley Grammar School, founded in 1956, is the longest established co-educational grammar school in the area. The aim of the school is to enable pupils to fulfil their potential and achieve high standards within an academic and friendly environment that stimulates and challenges them.

Langley Grammar School has recently sold tracts of land at the end of the former school field to fund building and restoration works comprising of, amongst others, a new teaching block of six classrooms, a sports hall, fitness suite, multipurpose area, and astroturf pitch. On September 11th 2006, the new Sports Hall was officially opened by the mayor of Slough.

A new sixth form centre has recently been being built and is due for an official opening by HRH The Princess Royal on Friday 28th September 2007. Following the award of the contract the first challenge was to complete the works within the six weeks school summer holidays. Careful planning and a strict schedule of works allowed Langley Grammar School to see that although the time frames where tight, we had the ability and team to fulfil our promise.

Throughout the project, weekly site meetings took place between the Project Manager and Langley Grammar school to ensure that not only the timescale's were going to be met but the finished product was going to be of a very high standard.

Three weeks prior to completion the existing electrical sockets, lighting and data within the area on which we were working failed an electrical test and inspection. This presented us with a challenge! After discussions with the key team at Langley Grammar School we revised the work schedule to ensure that the re wire to the failed electrical items would be completed alongside the original refurbishment works.

On Friday 24th August 2007 we met with Langley Grammar School team to hand over, 1 week earlier than expected with just blind installation and a full contract clean to be carried out the following Monday.

Langley Grammar School were then left with a modern and functional 600m2 classroom and meeting room block to allow for the increasing number of students attending the school this year.
