western General Hospital are the leading independent provider of Primary Care Services. They provide services for urgent and unscheduled care, and increasingly provide primary medical services on a 24 x 7 basis.
Traditionally Western General Hospital has provided Out of Hours Services and now provide this service to over 5 million patients across the UK. The focus for Western General Hospital is to deliver high quality and patient friendly services. They have used Lean Methodology to achieve clinically led service improvement, consistent patient outcomes and Value for Money.
The new £1million GP centre opened its doors on Friday 3rd April 2009. The facility at Weston General Hospital will offer services to registered patients, as well as urgent care to anyone who needs it.This summer a new GP centre is due to open in the town centre, with another practice also planned for Worle.
NHS North Somerset chief executive Chris Born said: “This is great news for the people of Weston and Worle. We can now get down to delivering the new services that will improve access to first class family healthcare.”
Anyone with an illness or symptoms they are concerned about will be able to walk into GP facility, but fractures and other injuries will be dealt with at the nearby accident and emergency department.
Project Details:
New Business Interiors worked alongside Western General Hospital Management and the Weston General Hospital team to produce a specification and programme of works within their budget and provide a quality refurbishment with minimal disruption to staff and patients.
The original brief was to allow New Business Interiors a complete, clear site for the duration of the contract. However due to timescales and maintaining a service to patients the GP clinic needed to remain open for the duration, this meant that New Business Interiors needed to be flexible in their approach and at times during the project, changing the planned areas of work at 8AM on the day.
New Business Interiors worked closely with all involved to complete the works within the original timescale ready for the grand opening on Friday 3rd April and the clinic has a modern and professional feel throughout, from the new entrance doors and canopy, through the to treatment rooms and offices. New Business Interiors, Western General Hospital and Weston General Hospital are very pleased with the final outcome of the project.
